St. Norbert 900th Jubilee Bronze Rosary

Handmade with extra sturdy bronze wire wrapping and a beautifully detailed bronze crucifix, as well as an attached custom medal of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception featuring the text of the Ave Virgo antiphon (see translation and history below). The rosary centerpiece depicts St. Norbert, the Apostle of the Eucharist, beneath which is an angel, reminiscent of St. Norbert’s association of our white habit with the angels of the resurrection. Antique bronze with 8 mm matte stone beads of a deep green and white chalcedony color with occasional hints of maroon, and fleur-de-lis connectors for the “Our Father” beads. Designed and made by the Sisters in honor of St. Norbert and our Order’s 900th Jubilee Year.

Ave Virgo Medal

The beautiful text of the Ave Virgo is attributed to our holy father St. Norbert, said to have been composed as part of an Office in honor of the Immaculate Conception, and chanted to this day as the antiphon for the Nunc Dimittis canticle at Compline on her Solemnity (December 8th):

Hail, O Virgin, who, preserved by the Holy Spirit, hast triumphed over the formidable sin of our first parents, without being tainted by it.
